Site Build It Review
I've devoted a whole page on my site to reviewing this software, because it has so many capabilities that it takes a while to fully understand what you can do with it. The software comes from a company called SiteSell.net which is run by Ken Evoy. His philosophy in business is to overdeliver with everything that he does ... in fact everything that I have bought from him has had far more value than any of his competitors and has also been less expensive. For example he has an ebook called Make Your Site Sell which has over 1000 pages and costs around $30 - it has more information than many of the manuals which cost $97 to $197. Ken has put this same philosophy into Site Build It. This 'software' package includes so many added benefits and features ... it actually takes a while to fully understand all of the added capabilities. The purpose of the Site Build It package is to provide everything that you need to put your business online. Not just to design the website, but everything that is necessary to succeed with an online business, or to take your existing business online. Here are some of the things that Ken has included with the package: 1. Hosting your site. It has taken me quite a while to understand the full capabilities of the Site Build It software, but now I can see that you get so many features in the one package. I've included this quote from Ken Evoy which describes how people are using the Site Build It software in practice. I was quite amazed to hear that even his 14 year old daugher has been using it! Heck, it's even for my daughter, Nori. Nori is 14 years old. She started her own site while we were on vacation in Anguilla (a WORKING vacation, but we still got a lot of play in, as you'll see in a second). She wants to use SBI! to make some money by earning commissions for referrals for the villa we rent in Anguilla (her site will attract people who want to rent accommodation there) and other affiliate-type income. As traffic starts, she'll add the e-mail address of our friend's villa, links to books about Anguilla at Amazon, etc., etc. She's "privileged" in that she gets to build her site using the NEW SBI!, with server-side graphic LogoCreator and NavBar Maker, e-zine, home page pop-under, and e-mail redirect. - Note that this email was written in mid 2002 and the NEW SBI is now available for everybody Nori built the site (I helped her brush the words, but that was my only input -- it was actually fun for me because we worked on her writing at school all last year, and this was an extension of that effort). Now, one caveat -- she's just beginning, so give her a bit of leeway... .... not bad for a 14 year old with zero tech skills... unless you count 100% fluency in "chat-ese." ;-) Of course, someone like a real estate agent, or a tour operator, or any number of local Anguillians delivering a variety of services, could use something like SBI!-B to far more profitable effect. And there are lots of people who would pay for a sensational collection of photos of Anguilla I must admit -- it impressed me, all over again, to see what a solid site someone with zero tech skills can make. And when you look at all the pre-building "prep steps" SBI!-B does (brainstorming, domain name, etc.) and post-building tedium that it handles (SE submission and tracking, PPC research, etc.), it's clear that SBI!-B gets the job done pretty well. Naturally, I love the buttons (they even jiggle when you mouseover). Nori did a great logo and she found creating an e-zine a snap. And best of all, she got to do it in beautiful Anguilla. :-) I thought I'd leave you with three nice follow-ups to stories that I reported upon in the past... A couple of months ago, we received this nice letter from a SBI! user... Dear Dr. Evoy, Just wanted to let you know that sbi is working SO well for us here in South Africa.We sell golf tours in South Africa to anyone anywhere in the world with our site and have been working at getting the site working well. We started in or about December 2001. Last night I counted 24 - #1 ratings, 3 - #2 ratings and 1 - #3 rating which I don't think is too stinky for an almost computer illiterate, late summer chicken. We have had lots of response for a site that has a very specific target market - our first query came from an outfit in the US for 20 golfers. It was a bid and we are still waiting for the results which should be known before the end of the month. I think it is the cat's meow. So do some of our visitors who have sent lots of unsolicited compliments. Thank you for making it so easy for me. It's even doing better, page for page, than other related sites that have been running much longer. And Paul has done it all, purely part-time -- REALLY part-part-time, since we've all been driving long hours on this launch for months now. Despite limited time to work on it, diet-supplement-review.com keeps growing. It is now in the Alexa top 100,000 Sites! Not bad for a niche site...
